The 1928 municipal election was held December 10, 1928 to elect a mayor and six aldermen to sit on Edmonton City Council and three trustees to sit on the public school board (A J Crowe, J O Pilon, and W D Trainor were acclaimed to the separate school board). There were also six bylaws put to a city-wide vote. There were ten aldermen on city council, but four of the positions were already filled: Ralph Bellamy, A C Sloane, James East, and L S C Dineen were all elected to two-year terms in 1927 and were still in office. John C. Bowen had also been elected to a two-year term, but had resigned in order to run for mayor. Accordingly, Rice Sheppard was elected to a one-year term. There were seven trustees on the public school board, but four of the positions were already filled: Frank Crang, Arthur Cushing, Albert Ottewell, and Elmer Roper had all been elected to two-year terms in 1927 and were still in office. The same was true on the separate board, where Robert Crossland, Charles Gariepy, Thomas Magee, and B J Tansey were continuing. This election marked Edmonton's return to the first past the post electoral system after four elections of using single transferable vote. ==Voter turnout== There were 14971 ballots cast out of 37915 eligible voters, for a voter turnout of 39.4%. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Edmonton municipal election, 1928」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
